The Logesky Homestead Walk Through | Personal
December 5, 2017 , Personal
There was a time when I felt like as soon as anything happened I needed to express it here. Writing has always helped me process through the good and bad times. In this season though this isn’t the place I run to first to get it out. Part of me misses it but part of me knows that processing things through my mouth in safe places can be just as good if not better, as processing things through my fingers alone. In the creative world you see others sharing things so you think you should too. It reminds me of weddings. Traditions get carried on sometimes because someone else did it before. But somewhere along the way you have to ask yourself… WHY am I doing this? Is this who I am? Would I be doing this if the person before me hadn’t done it? Like when a bride says “Why would I wear shoes on my wedding day when I HATE shoes any other day?” This is what has helped me think through what we write and share. I want you to know that I share our home, our heart, our girls and so much more because that is truly who we are. We are people people! We love to have parties, invite everyone over, cook food and hang on the couch. We want to connect with you like we do those who get to come into our home. We don’t share this because someone else has shared their home and life this way but because we want to walk through life being who we are made to be. Being personal and vulnerable is just who we are and we are excited to share and invite you in!
In September life threw us some curve balls and we ended up moving just 2 weeks after finding out it was time to go. We found a house, signed the papers and before we knew it we were out the door and making this place our home. As crazy as it all was it feels like this is exactly where we are supposed to be. We have moved so many times in our 8 years of marriage and for the first time I feel like I would be really sad to leave here. I love our house, our town, the people we are meeting, the way the sunsets, the deer, the grocery store.. I could go on! We have had little things come up like no water.. ok thats not little but it all works out! ha! We have had a furnace go out, sub-pump, water softener, fridge, ….yeah you name it. But the beauty is right now we are just renting and our landlords have been patient with us and responded to every need we have had. Despite some of those frustrations we still love it and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!
I walked through everything with Aydah on my hip and the camera in my hand and by the end I was drenched in sweat and Aydah was ready for a nap! lol! So here we go!
We live right on a pretty big road. The speed limit is 55! We thought we wouldn’t like that but actually it has been pretty peaceful and just fine. We would love to do something to create some privacy if we would ever own the house but for now it is just fine!
We have an acre and a half of land! SO NICE! We moved in at the end of summer so we are looking forward to getting to the other side of winter and creating more of an outside space! We want to get the kids a play set and work on the patio.
This door below is our back door!
This is the door we use the most to come in and out!
This is the view when you walk through the door above. This first living space is where we meet with clients for consults. It works really nice!
We changed out our mantle with christmas decor and we love it! The best part about our decor is it is mostly winter looking so we get to leave it up longer!
The blue bench under the window came from Home Goods and it is my favorite! It has storage in it too which is great!
This picture below is not the prettiest space but the most practical. Finn boy was in his crate because otherwise he would photobomb every picture! I love having our desk here because the windows look out on our backyard and the door on the left leads to the playroom. So I can be right where the girls are if I need to work.
Playroom! It is about to get a whole lot more chaotic in there because we have a lot of toys coming for Christmas!
Emlyn and her love for all things art!
The couch in the playroom has a queen roll out bed in it so they makes it super nice for when we have company! We have a garage so we just slide some of the toys out there to make room.
Ok so now we are going to walk back out to the lower dining and living area and cross over to the other side!
I got distracted by the mantle again! ha! All of our mantle pieces came from Hobby Lobby!
We are getting ready to get a new entertainment stand and move the ikea shelves into Aydah’s room for her to keep toys in there. I am ready for that to happen but patiently waiting haha! I am also hanging on to this couch a little longer but I am ready for new furniture as well. We bought this set for $900 in 2010! It has been a great set but it is starting to break and just doesn’t fit our style anymore.
I am so not for these green counter but we are making it work for now! We do have plans to paint the whole house gray but we are taking it easy for now and will prob start conquering that after the holidays!
I had to sit her down for a minute because my arms were tired lol!
So I just moved everything around to get ready to move those ikea shelves in here for her. I also bought that rug on amazon for $20 just to use temporarily so she can play in there and not fall and get hurt. She already loves playing in there and I don’t even have it all set up yet!
I made a bunch of flower crafts at the old house for her room and they started falling a part. I repurposed them and created this flower wall and I love it!
Alright on to Emlyn’s room!
And our room! Our king bed makes the room look small but actually all the rooms are a really nice size in this house!
It is so nice having our own little bathroom too.
Alright! Thanks for walking through our house with us! As I mentioned, lots of changes coming soon so we will keep you in the loop as those happen!
Sharing, serving, and celebrating,
Andrew + Chrissy
