Making things NEW

I have always had a desire for making something old into something new. I have dreamed since I was little girl of having an old house to flip. I love the idea of repurposing, resuing, and recycling. So, needless to say this project was all sorts of fun for me! When we were planning out the workshop I realized I needed a nice chair for head-shots and for the model. I thought, what the heck I will go check the used furniture store in town! Well this beautiful thing was there and I was thrilled!

I have never ACTUALLY refinished anything before so this was an exciting venture for me! I headed to Joann’s and I purchased a few things to make it all happen!

Then I was on my way to go make something old… something new! It was freezing outside and I don’t recommend doing this project in the winter! lol

It took me about three days to finish it and honestly.. I still need to do some touch ups now that I see these pictures!! Haha! Most of the time was really just letting the paint dry.

Dont you just love the detail in the wood?

I had so much fun with this project and I hope it inspires you to get out there and find something old and make it new. I can’t wait to use this at our workshop on March 7th! Be sure to look for it in the pictures to come!
